1011 backhead detail

This engine was one of four Ottaway steam trains formerly owned by Raymond Johnson of Wakefield, Kansas and ran in a Salina park for fourty years. This locomotive is currently owned by the C & H railroad. An extensive restoration of the chassis and running gear has recently been completed by Mike Hawkins, Steve Cregut and Dale Schafer to return this loco to running status. Boiler welding, ultrasound and hydrotesting was performed by Shamrad fabricators in St. Joseph Missouri

1011 new lagging installed

An earlier boiler rework by persons unknown left this boiler with ten 1-1/4" fire tube flues. Due to the resulting reduction in steam generating capacity, this loco now requires petroleum coke to generate useable steam power.
